From Coya (Infiesto) they come to fill the Parade of the International Descent of the Sella with Sellero color…
In the village of Coya, the birthplace of Dionisio de la Huerta’s father, the alma mater of the Fiesta de Les Piragües spent his summers, and it was here that the initial idea for the Descent of the Sella was born.
The Roblón de Coya Association was created to manage the local community center in the same village.
The association’s main goal is to revitalize the parish and promote community participation and interaction. Through this association, numerous courses, workshops, talks, and activities are already being offered (and will continue to be) for all age groups.
They also carry out work on maintaining the so-called ‘Dionisio Walk’, aiming to commemorate the canoe journey that Dionisio de la Huerta made in 1929 from Coya to Infiesto—a trip that would become the precursor to the famous International Descent of the Sella.
