67th Sella Descent
A total of 750 paddlers from 18 countries took part. Julio changed partners again, teaming up with Emilio Merchán—if they won, it would be their sixth consecutive victory, a true record. The Zamoran duo Jorge Alonso and Santiago Guerrero, along with Asturians Manuel Busto and Alberto Llera, tried to make it difficult for them… but they couldn’t stop them, as Julio and Emilio won again with a time of 1h 9min 47sec.
For the first time, women took their place on the Ribadesella podium… equality has finally arrived at the Sella.
