32nd Descent of the Sella
This year, the cannon gifted to the festival by Juan Antonio Samaranch gives the starting signal. The “godmother” is his wife, who christens the cannon with cider. Samaranch is named “Honorary Archduke of the Kingdom of the Waters.”
There are 205 canoes participating, with the pair from Parres—Juan Manuel Feliz and José Gutiérrez of Los Rápidos de Arriondas—winning overall for the first time with a time of 1h 20m 32s.
