International Sella River Descent

1934

5th Descent of the Sella

Two notable milestones marked the 1934 edition. First, the Pidal Team Prize was created, awarded to the best team finishing with the lowest combined time, encouraging strategy and group participation.

Second, for the first time, a K1 won the overall Sella title, breaking the dominance of double canoes. The Pidal Prize went to the Ribadesella team, while the overall K1 winner was Vicente Suárez from the Gijón Rowing Club, setting a new record of 1 hour and 44 minutes.
