79th Sella Descent
This year, 1,100 paddlers in 700 boats from twenty countries took part in the International Descent of the Sella, confirming its status as the great canoeing festival.
Walter Bouzán and Álvaro Fernández Fiuza secured their fifth joint victory after breaking away early and paddling solo to the finish line in Ribadesella, earning a comfortable lead over their pursuers: Julio Martínez (an eleven-time winner) and Emilio Llamedo, who finished second, and Antonio Palmas and Brais Sánchez, in third.
In K-1, European marathon champion José Ramalho showcased his expertise on the Sella River, taking the lead from the first kilometers and claiming a well-deserved victory in this iconic Asturian event.
