Toraño – Sella River (Km 7)
🔹 Useful Technical Information:
📍 Distance from Arriondas: 7 km (Short Route)
🎣 Fishing Zone: Salmon fishing reserve (coto salmonero) (from 50 m upstream of the La Granda stream to 200 m downstream of the Toraño bridge)
🌉 Section Type: Deep calm pool next to a fixed bridge
✅ Ideal for: Intermediate stop, fishing, partial end of the route
📝 Section Description:
The Toraño stretch, at km 7 of the Sella River, is marked by the first fixed bridge on the route, connecting the villages of Toraño (right bank) and Margolles (left bank).
Unlike the earlier pedestrian footbridges, this bridge is accessible to vehicles.
Around it lies a deep, calm pool, often used by those descending the river as a rest or technical stop—especially when traveling with children or beginners, since it represents roughly half of the usual route.
On hot days, it’s not uncommon to see young people jumping from the top of the bridge into the water, although this is not recommended for safety reasons.
The section is also part of a traditional partial salmon fishing reserve (coto salmonero), making it an attractive spot for anglers.
