📝 Section Description:

The Cuevas stretch, at km 12.8 of the Sella River, stands out for its wide, calm pool located next to the village of the same name. It’s an ideal spot for resting, fishing, or making an intermediate stop during the descent.

The area is crossed by a hanging pedestrian footbridge that connects both banks of the river, providing access from the Cuevas village (right bank) to the fields and paths on the opposite side.

The surroundings are very picturesque, with forests, orchards, and rural houses, making it one of the most photogenic and relaxing sections of the route. In summer, it’s common to see groups of boats here enjoying the scenery or having a picnic.

From a fishing perspective, Cuevas is part of the salmon fishing reserve (coto salmonero), and its deep, calm waters make it ideal for casting from the bank or practicing float fishing.
