29th Descent of the Sella
The 1965 edition confirmed the event’s strong international character, with a massive foreign presence and an all-international podium.
The top three places were taken entirely by foreign paddlers:

First: Danes Luna Hansen and Erick Crone, with a time of 1 hour, 23 minutes, and 10 seconds.

Second: Swedes Larsson and Peterson, finishing in 1 hour, 26 minutes, and 20 seconds.

Third: Austrians Holtzchuster and Wakolbinger, at 1 hour, 31 minutes, and 1 second.
The 1965 Sella was highly competitive, further cementing its international prestige and its status as a must-attend event for Europe’s top marathon canoeing teams.
