Arriondas, at kilometer 0 of the Sella River, is the starting point of the Sella River Descent, both in its tourist canoe version and its international competitive event.

From the Emilio Llamedo Olivera Bridge, hundreds of boats set off every day during the summer, making this spot a true hub for active tourism in Asturias.

This point features a well-equipped boarding area, rental companies, changing facilities, and transportation to the end of the route.

Additionally, every first Saturday in August, it hosts the Fiesta de las Piraguas, declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest, transforming the place into a unique festive spectacle.

Arriondas is not only a sporting landmark: it’s also an excellent place to take photos of the river, soak in the atmosphere, or simply start a scenic and cultural route that runs over 20 km to Ribadesella.
