The Jurassic Museum of Asturias (MUJA) is a must-visit to discover the fascinating world of dinosaurs on the stunning Asturian coast.
Located between Colunga and Lastres, the museum offers a journey of over 2,000 m² through the Mesozoic era, featuring one of the best collections of dinosaur tracks in Europe.
🔹A Journey Through Time in the Mesozoic
The MUJA features a permanent exhibition organized chronologically:
- Pre-Mesozoic: before the rise of the dinosaurs
- Mesozoic: divided into Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous, with unique fossil pieces
- Post-Mesozoic: subsequent evolution up to the present day
Thanks to its interactive and educational design, the museum is perfect for children, families, and paleontology enthusiasts.
🔹Dinosaur Tracks Unique in Europe
The collection of fossil tracks preserved at the MUJA is considered:
✅ The best collection in a museum in Europe
✅ The third most important in the world
✅ Fossils in excellent condition, with great species diversity
You can also complete your experience by visiting the actual fossil track sites on the Asturian Jurassic Coast (La Griega, Playa de Vega, Tereñes…).
