In Asturias itself development an important milling industry, occupying these, very picturesque places al side of the numerous streams that reflect for its valleys.

The mills take advantage of the water power of the numerous streams and regatos, in this way the peasant can grind his cereals with facility.

The exploitation of the mills could be done of two ways: by veceras or shifts of all the owners of the same one -> each owner had the property of a day or of middle according to their needs; or by he assembles if there was a single owner and this he charged in species, that is to say he withdrew a quantity of the grain that they carried to grind.
